Sources and data types
Primary source: Yahoo Finance (public endpoints)
- Instrument search and symbol metadata
- Daily OHLCV history up to 5 years, with split/dividend adjustment factors
- Latest available price and market timestamp (delayed)
These endpoints are publicly accessible but unofficial. Availability, rate limits and permitted use are controlled by the provider. Server-side caching (15 minutes for prices, 24 hours for search), retries and throttling are applied. The owner is responsible for confirming that this source's terms permit the intended commercial use, and additional licensed sources can be added without redesign.
What is not provided
- Real-time or tick-level prices
- Intraday bars, order books or depth
- Exchange holiday calendars (weekends only are modelled)
- Guaranteed coverage of every instrument
